Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2020 Collection

Miu Miu toyed with elegance at yesterday’s show in Paris.

At the Palais d’Lena in Paris, set designer AMO reimagined the sober Palais architecture, contrasting the white floors with a bold carpet that ran throughout and columns illuminated by pink lights. Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter collection flowed through the Palais while exploring charm as pleasure and putting the values of femininity into practice rather than concept.

Toying with elegance, the collection relied on evening and cocktail wear silhouettes to enhance every garment. Outerwear like trailing coats saw childish proportions that were elongated, proving formality but avoiding seriousness. Driving home the notion of charm, simple cotton drill was joined by paste pastiche diamonds. The collection fused shaggy fur, colorful plaid, glossy black leather, and velvet cheetah print to put femininity at the forefront of the show.

The spectacle inspired set that housed the collection will be given a new life, as Miu Miu worked with an association that recovers and collects materials and waste from fashion shows to redistribute to students and professionals in the fashion world.
