The fashion house’s Maritime collection is joyful, vibrant, playful; the whimsies and fanciful yearnings of the sea are expressed in colors, insignias and attitudes reminiscent of the archetypal sailor, refracted through a contemporary lens to create a new wearer and a new adventure.

In a campaign shot by Johnny Dufort at the Plage de Bon-Secours at Saint Malo, the easy sophistication and grace of the collection is captured through Miu Miu Maritime models, feminine and carefree as the tide itself. The blue expanses of the sea and sky mingle as one; at their meeting point, Miu Miu Maritime reigns, connecting land and water, fashion and a new wave of territory.

A distinctly nautical vibe is interwoven throughout the collection, bringing a fresh, spirited manner of marine attire in the lens of high fashion. Tailoring and cuts inspired by traditional marine wear meet the expert, timeless femininity of Miu Miu, connecting what once was masculine with the modern woman. Traditionally sharp, masculine cuts—lap collars, wide shoulders and utilitarian uniforms—are given a finer, daintier detailing; uniforms are now made for summer, complete with ruffles, rounded sleeves, lace detailing, bows.

The collection is a landscape of the sea, embedded in an elegant palette of marine blue, ivory white, pale pink, officer’s red, all evoking the youthful freedom and possibility of adventure that comes with the high seas. Tied to the nautical language, this visual vocabulary sees its peak in the garments where form unifies with function, moulding the perfect summer wardrobe, defined by cotton denim, satin pois, lightweight and crisp for the season.

Standout looks from the collection evoke endless possibilities and landmark reconciliations between woman and water, Miu Miu and marine. A tiered, long-line skirt with contrasting polka dot patterns is expressive and untamed as the ocean itself, while an easy, stark white sweater with lace lapels and pearl buttons evokes the lasting grace of the deep sea.
