The MM6 Autumn-Winter Collection continues to follow Martin Margiela’s ethos by creating garments that cater to needs and occasions. The collection features classic clothes in new ways by going back to their foundational techniques. It is a thoughtful evolution of the brand’s deconstructionist heritage while paying homage to timeless wardrobe essentials.

This season’s runway presentation featured models wearing black-out sunglasses, establishing intimate connections with the audience through deliberate eye contact. This idea is taken from the menswear line, however, with a softer edge, making all models look powerful strutting the runway.

The item list includes classics like the trenchcoat, the tailored coat, and the pantsuit, amongst others, which have become staples in the collections. Maison Margiela knows how to refine wardrobe fundamentals better than anyone.

As for the color palette, the collection mostly focuses on neutral colors such as browns, grays, and blacks with details in bold red and turquoise. The design of the garments experiment with size and shape, thus changing how the wearer is perceived by the audience.

When it comes to accessories, there were a few twists on classic items, an homage to the past but bringing it to the present. The runway featured high heels with fake stockings, oversized bags, and our personal favorite: long gloves, which brought to the forefront MM6’s commitment to being elegant yet experimental.

Overall, the MM6 AW25 collection demonstrates a delicate balance between conceptual design and functional elegance.
