Joining the next stop on the Moncler Genius World Tour 19-20 is 1017 ALYX 9SM. The partnership marks the 6th installment in the collaborative series, tapping the creativity of Matthew Williams, the founder and creative director of the streetwear label Alyx. Founded in 2015, the brand cemented its presence in streetwear culture by merging the aesthetics of high fashion with industrial components. The Chicago-born designer was tapped to create a collection for Moncler Genius, the creative hub that partners with designers from all over the world, for one of a kind capsule collections. After making its debut in 2018, Genius was launched with 8 unique collections in collaboration with brands and designers such as Palm Angels, Simone Rocha, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Craig Green, etc.

Available today, the sixth drop of the Genius collection infuses Alyx’s distinct techniques and signature industrial hardware, combining the DNA and aesthetics of both labels, harmoniously. Remaining true to the DNA of both brands, Williams and Moncler kept comfort, function, and practicality in mind, for the range of modular outerwear. Classic Moncler pieces such as puffers, padded parkas, and windbreakers are re-worked with the introduction of fresh styles such as bonded leather pieces. All of which are blended with statement accessories such as chain belts with hooks, hooded backpacks, and neoprene boots. Select pieces of the collection were designed with sustainability in mind, using fabrics as Econyl®, a regenerated nylon that uses waste materials such as recycled plastic from the ocean, as their source.
