Montblanc and PSNY Team Up for New Eco-Friendly Line
Everything you need to know about the new collection and its launch party.

Fashion collaborations are in the air. Montblanc teamed up with Public School New York for a new eco-friendly line. The collection of bags and accessories combines Montblanc’s dedication to well crafted luxury items with PSNY’s New York edge.

Public School New York, started by Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne in 2008, embodies New York street culture. They like to blend disruption with sustainability to create items that are perfect for urban adventurers without having a large impact on the environment.
Montblanc’s aesthetic seems almost at odds with PSNY. The century old Maison focuses mostly on luxury writing instruments.

“With this unique collaboration, our goal is to give the environmentally conscious an opportunity to experience the disruptive streetwear style of Public School New York, while also reaffirming their commitment to reducing their footprint on the planet,” say Montblanc’s North American President, Sylvain Costof. “It is proof that a luxury leather collection can not only be stylish and truly functional, but it can also be conscientious and environmentally responsible.”

Items in the collection are made with ECONYL, and eco-friendly nylon yarn. ECONYL goes through a regeneration process in which waste such as fishnets, carpets, and other used fabrics are recycled into something new. Other materials include a recycled leather that goes through a CO2 neutral tanning process.

“We have been very focused having our goods be more environmentally responsible in recent years, creating style essentials made from repurposed materials but also supplying lower impact basics via our Version Tomorrow platform to other brands and creators who don’t have access to them,” said the PSNY co-founders. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with Montblanc in its own efforts to make luxury more conscious of the world around us.”

To celebrate this new line Monteblanc x PSNY took over the Montblanc flagship store last night. The event included musical performances by indie artists Blu De Tiger and Spencer Ludwig. Along with the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, the night was attended executive from both companies as well as models such as Severine Keimig and Sophie Sumner.
