More Celebrities Are Speaking Truth in #MYCALVINS
In continuation with last week’s launch, the I SPEAK TRUTH IN #MYCALVINS campaign sees additions from Kendall Jenner, Troye Sivan, A$AP Rocky and more.
Calvin Klein has been about disrupting the status quo and inspiring others to express themselves freely since its inception. Last week, the company didn’t stray from that message: its latest campaign, I SPEAK MY TRUTH IN #MYCALVINS, revolves around the central theme of authenticity. Capitalizing on some of the biggest influencer voices, like Billie Eilish and Shawn Mendes, CK released confessional videos with the stars. Each candidly shot, the videos featured these celebrities voicing their vulnerabilities and exposing their true selves. Calvin Klein has already changed the world of external aesthetics; it seems as though its next target is transforming how we choose to present what’s within.
Today, we see phase two of this aim. A new rollout of imagery from similarly distinguished individuals feature revelations in line with those of last week’s launch. We see Kendall Jenner surrounded by a sea of phones, proclaiming there is much more than what she has chosen to show of herself to the world. From Troye Sivan, we hear his insecurities around accepting his body image and his star power as he walks through a quaint neighborhood. We hear messages about sexuality, identity and freedom, all highlighted through the everyday occurrences of these familiar people. Other artists in this campaign include A$AP Rocky, Kevin Abstract, Indya Moore and Yoo Ah-In
This campaign delivers on the usual: one sees fame, product modeling and sex appeal. But those attributes aren’t the focus anymore. I SPEAK MY TRUTH IN #MYCALVINS is about confronting the anxiety one feels surrounding what’s beneath the surface. Once we do that, we can start not only being true to those around us, but to ourselves too.
