In celebration of their highly anticipated drop coming next month, Mugler and H&M hosted a global launch party in NYC. After teaming up for the collection’s debut via a group music video; Shygirl, Amaarae, and Eartheater all performed at the event, before ending with a performance of their remake of Stardust’s nineties club classic, “Music Sounds Better With You.” 

“It’s just really surreal to even just be part of this,” said Eartheater in her interview with V last month. “Haley Wollens and Casey at Mugler right now are doing something that is very nutritious for the world and for women. I think that for them to join forces with H&M is a really positive thing, honestly.”

Creative Director of Mugler, Casey Cadwallader, is no stranger to curating an epic entourage; evident last night with attendees including Pamela Anderson, Charli XCX, Lourdes Leon, and Dominique Jackson, all sporting new designs from the upcoming collaboration. The crowd at the launch party is telling of the world-building that Cadwallader has crafted during his tenure at Mugler; a world that fuses fashion with entertainment and music.

The launch party concluded with a runway presentation of the collection, which is a curated blend of the ultra-sensual spandex creations Cadwallader has become known for alongside designs that reflect the theatrical designs of founder Thierry Mugler himself. This reference to the brand’s history was pertinent in Chloë Sevigny’s look for the evening; donning a chained blazer look that serves as a recreation of a runway look from a 1994 Mugler show.

The night acted as a great culmination for the contemporary Mugler, a design house that has compounded itself into a community of club culture, musicians, and fashionistas, with world-domination on the horizon.
