In a new collaboration, Mulberry has tapped designer Stefan Cooke to work together to design a limited-edition capsule inspired by pre-loved styles from the British brand’s circularity program, The Mulberry Exchange. The collection introduces unique takes on 27 pre-loved bags and transforms them into one-off pieces that redefine the perception of what pre-loved means today.
The Mulberry x Stefan Cooke collection blends Mulberry’s durable ethos with Stefan Cooke’s distinctive creativity. This collaboration delves into the mutual commitment of both brands to circularity, examining the contemporary concept of sustainable luxury craftsmanship. It places a spotlight on environmentally conscious manufacturing and inventive sourcing methods.
“We love the idea of reworking and refining pre-loved bags, and bringing a new level of history to designs with an exceptional level of craft,” said Stefan Cooke. “It’s amazing to be working with and being part of a history of a brand that we’ve found aspirational for such a long time. This feels like a real marriage of ideas and a new blueprint in terms of pre-loved design.”
The designs incorporate Stefan Cooke’s signature touches, such as upcycled rugby shirt tassels, sturdy button straps, and include vintage Mulberry print silk scarf straps. These elements are seamlessly integrated with Mulberry hardware, culminating in each bag featuring a co-branded shield motif fob.
The collection debuts during Stefan Cooke’s SS24 show at London Fashion Week and will be available for purchase online, and at Mulberry’s Regent Street flagship on the same day. The capsule will also be on sale at Mulberry’s inaugural Pre-Loved pop-up store, open to the public from September 16th for nine days on Poland Street in Soho, London.
