Munroe Bergdorf Wants You To Love Yourself This Valentine’s Day

The LGBTQ+ activist is the latest face of a lingerie campaign.

Lingerie companies are finally taking the hint that inclusivity is what’s in demand and that not everybody shops for lingerie to please someone else. “If you don’t love yourself how the hell are you going to love anyone else!?” a wise Ru Paul once philosophized.

Bluebella just launched their Valentine’s Day collection #LoveYourself with trans model and LGBTQ+ activist Munroe Bergdorf as the face, and we are LIVING for it. The collaboration came naturally, as Bergdorf had worn their lingerie on a magazine cover. It’s actually what sparked Bluebella to tap the model to front their Valentine’s Day campaign. Bergdorf also happened to be a huge fan of not only their products, but also their brand and messages of empowerment. This relationship makes the campaign that much more authentic and powerful.

Bluebella’s campaign focuses on, you guessed it, loving yourself this Valentine’s Day!!! The emphasis is on empowering women, celebrating yourself and wearing things that make you feel sexy and beautiful regardless of whether or not anyone is going to see it. For Bergdorf, lingerie is a way for her to express her femininity on her own terms, making her the perfect face for the campaign. She explains, “I don’t want to be forced into wearing clothes that I don’t feel comfortable in and that’s what I was putting myself through previously.” Through a journey of self-love she’s come to be unapologetically herself. Speaking of Bluebella she says, “When I’m wearing it I don’t feel like I’m wearing it for anyone but myself. I feel like it complements my shape. I feel sexy and beautiful in my own right, my kind of sexy.”

This Valentine’s Day strive to feel your own kind of sexy, as Bluebella says, “Insta is an inspiring place but it is also a space that can breed self-doubt. This Valentine’s remember that you are each uniquely beautiful.” See more photos from the campaign at Bluebella.com.
