Mykki Blanco Spontaneously Drops New Single
The rapper’s new track is called “Patriarchy Ain’t The End Of Me,” and it’s the most fun you’ll have all day.
Mykki Blanco’s music is stylistically bold, with unapologetic rap that pulls from the artist’s poetry, activism, and performance art. So when she quietly dropped her new track “Patriarchy Ain’t The End Of Me,” fans knew they were in for a treat.
“I recorded this song in early 2018 which feels like a million years ago now. I’m a theater kid at heart and I wanted to try and tap into that theatrical MGM musical vibe and see what happens,” Mykki said via Instagram.
What resulted from her inspiration is an utterly fun track with a purpose: establishing dominance over the patriarchy, and Mykki makes it her bitch. She ultimately envisioned “a scene from a musical with radical feminist strippers” accompanied by a playful bop. Produced by FaltyDL and backing vocals from Mykal Kilgore, L1zy, and Leah King, “Patriarchy Ain’t The End Of Me” serves as a confidence booster.
