Look out. The sought-after Latin music sensation Nathy Peluso appears at the forefront of Desigual’s latest creative endeavors.
This September, Latin music icon Nathy Peluso takes center stage as Desigual’s newest face for their upcoming black and white campaign. Promos and teasers have been disclosed on social media platforms, giving viewers a little sneak peek into the ethos of the campaign. Refined, reframed, and imbued with possibility, Desigual’s latest promo video strips down to the bare essentials in the effort to unveil their brand in a fresh and appealing light. Shot entirely in black and white by photographer Txema Yeste and directed by Paul López (Manson), the video will demonstrate authenticity and optimism, helping to unapologetically reveal the true essence of the brand, coming together to collectively rejuvenate in the power of creativity.
As the face of the campaign is Nathy Peluso an influential Argentinian born and raised in Spain, singer, songwriter, dancer, and pedagogue. Over the past few years, Peluso has won multiple Latin Grammy Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best New Artist, and four Premios Gardel awards. The singer-songwriter is renowned for her infectious personality on and off stage and her striking fusion of hip hop, soul, and world music. Her collaborations include artists such as Christina Aguilera, Karol G, and C. Tangana. Apart from this campaign, the music mogul has further dipped her toe into the fashion world, guest appearing at the “salin” of Camargue in the South of France for Jacquemus’s latest FW22 “Le Papier” Collection.
Founded in 1984 by Thomas Meyer in the Barcelona neighborhood of El Raval, Desigual has since been on a fast track to inspire and encourage anyone to learn to love what makes them different and, also, to love differently. In 2020, the brand boldly affirmed “Love Different” as their center-point motif behind all intentions. By believing that dressing is a declaration of intent, Desigual aims to illuminate the intention that clothing has the power to change moods. With a campaign spreadsheet consisting of star-studded icons such as designer Maria Escote, Jan Baiboon, Stella Jean, Christian Lacroix, and most recently, Nathy Peluso, this Barcelona brand is rapidly gaining global appeal.
