Versace has always had an eye for courting superstars, and this season makes no difference as Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has been crowned as the brand’s latest eyewear campaign star. Featuring sunglasses and optical styles from the latest men’s collection, the newest campaign serves as a continuation of Wade’s relationship with the Italian fashion house, while simultaneously debuting Versace Profiles—a new project from the house that shares an intimate look at the faces of the brand. When asked to share some items and stories behind them, Wade included his championship ring, a camera, and a photo of his daughter.
The latest eyewear collection includes three new styles—two sunglasses and one optical frame. The VE4464 sunglasses feature a classic flat-top rectangular frame with double-layer construction in recycled acetate. The hinges and signature Medusa head emblem are cast in distinctive metal and provide a contrast against the vibrant color choices from red and blue. The VE4465, also a sunglasses style, provides a sleeker silhouette with a narrow rectangular body, streamlined contours, and flat-top profile. Also crafted in double-layer recycled acetate, the VE4465 features a metal wraparound of the iconic Medusa head plaque. The only optical style of Versace’s newest eyewear collection, the VE3354, is a square frame made from recycled acetate with double-layered construction in color contrast, visible both on the frame front and on the temple. The design features metal hinges and a wraparound Medusa head plaque.
“I’m proud to be part of the Versace family, and I’m excited to launch my second eyewear collection with a campaign that’s personal and meaningful,” says Dwyane Wade in a statement. “Completing your look is all about the details and the new collection reinforces the importance of eyewear as an outfit’s finishing touch.”
