Teased during last October’s Spring/Summer 2022 Paris Fashion Week, Miu Miu revealed the brand’s first sneaker collaboration with New Balance. The season revealed the brand’s intention in adding onto the ’00’s-looks, matching the sneakers with the classic archetypes of khakis, sweaters, shirts, and mini skirts that were altered through exposé of construction to reveal a “commemoration of the spontaneity of these actions” as stated in the press release. The conception of this spontaneity revealed low-waisted micro-skirts,  cropped knitwear and trousers, and the 574 sneakers to create the ultimate preppy uniform.

The 574 New Balance x Miu Miu sneakers encapsulate the prep-uniform, reinterpreting the sports shoe into denim with raw, frayed edges as a “part of a construction process exposed to underline the spontaneity of these actions.” Appearing in “White,” “Royal Blue,” and “Colonial Beige,”  the colorways are highlights by Miu Miu’s logo imprinted on the tongue while New Balance’s signature “N” appears on the side.

The new 574s are now available on Miu Miu’s website for $695 per pair.
