What’s something that people would be surprised to know about you?

That I’m a loner. Everyone thinks I’m everywhere and have a lot of friends, but I’m really a homebody.

What is your stance on the current state of affairs in the US regarding the BLM movement, protests, and police brutality?

I’m sad, I’m angry, I’m tired…but I’m still hopeful. George Floyd’s death just put the microscope on to injustices that black people have faced for decades. It’s a reality I have lived with since I was a child, but today I’m feeling a little more hopeful because I’m able to see people of all colors, races and creeds standing up for what they know is right.

Are you taking part in the movement? If so, how?

I stand proud in the BLM movement and I stand tall next to all of those who are making strides towards equality for all. I’m going to continue to use my voice and my platform to educate, motivate and inspire others to speak up for equality for Black people, for women, for the LGBT community and for any other group that is not recognized and respected as equal.

How did the onset of this year’s public health crisis change your outlook on life and/or work?

It made me realize that life is too short. It made me realize we have so much work to do within ourselves and as a country.

What are some of the things you’ve been reading or watching during this time in quarantine?

I’ve been reading more T.D Jakes books, and I’ve been very interested in material about all things that our going on in the world during these times.

What have you learned while in solitude?

During these times, I’ve been blessed to be with my family but one thing I learned is patience. I also picked up a few new skills like cooking and handiwork around the house.

What’s the first thing you’re going to do after coming out of quarantine?

Once quarantine is over, I would love to travel and have a real vacation. But with everything going on, I’m just eager for the world to get better and open back up, honestly.

What are your goals for 2020?

My goal for 2020 is to just be happy and live life. Life is short!
