Nicolas Di Felice Parts From Courrèges After 5 Years

The House announces the Belgian designer’s departure, making way for a new Artistic Director to be announced next week

On Tuesday, luxury French fashion house Courrèges announced that 42-year-old Belgian designer Nicolas Di Felice has stepped down from his role as Artistic Director.

“I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the group and especially to François Pinault and François-Henri Pinault for their trust,” Di Felice says in a statement from the House. “I also want to truly thank all the teams and my friends, whose talent and dedication made this human and creative journey so meaningful.”

This announcement comes just weeks after Courrèges’ Fall/Winter 2026-2027 show, where, in Paris, the designer celebrated his 5th anniversary with the house—he was even surprised with a cake which read “5 ANS” by the models backstage. What is now his final collection at the house considers who the Courrèges Woman is. Its closing image: a minimalist, cylindrical white dress, reminiscent of the sleek house codes, but uniquely characterized by its unconventional architecture.

Di Felice’s entire five-year tenure at the helm was marked by sexy subversiveness and contemporary vision. His designs sparked conversation and curiosity, translating house codes to fit modern culture. He challenged the boundaries of avant-garde silhouette while considering wearability.

The brand stated that the transition is part of efforts to “focus on personal projects,” an exciting new endeavor for Di Felice. However, a new chapter is on the horizon at Courrèges as well. Paired with the news of Di Felice’s exit, the house also announced that a new Artistic Director will be appointed next week, the 8th in the house’s history.
