The air is wet, sticking to skin and causing the flat-ironed hair of female financiers to perk up, twirling with excitement. Childish-like privacy is gifted once one slips two buds into their ears, an escape from the seemingly endless mundane. As Friedrich Nietzsche once said, “Without music, life would be a mistake”.

It’s Friday, and alongside the gift of the weekend ahead, we’re also bestowed with new music. New worlds to escape into and new people to meet. With that being said, here are some of V’s favorite new releases.

Remy Bond: ‘Cherry Red Balloon’

Remy Bond, a modern pin-up vocalist, enchants listeners on her newest release, “Cherry Red Balloon”. A melancholic story about constantly trying to grasp fleeting moments. This is Remy’s first release post Backstage At The Tropicana, her debut body of work. After a breakout year, which included recognition from everyone’s favorite, Lana Del Rey and even Elton John, who championed her via his radio show Rocket Hour. Being named one of Billboard’s 21 under 21, Remy Bond is poised to take 2026 by storm.

Absolutely: ‘Paracosm’

Paracosm: an imaginary world often created during childhood, sometimes into adulthood. These universes may feature unique geographies, histories, languages, and characters. A paracosm can be a coping mechanism for stress or trauma. Or, it could simply be a creative outlet. Absolutely, the British-born artist and sister to fellow vocal powerhouse RAYE, presents her debut album Paracosm. Which manipulates the boundaries of alternative R&B and contemporary pop. This crafts a deeply cathartic sound; the album urges listeners to rediscover their own imagination.

Willow: ‘Petal Rock Black’

Willow surprised fans on February 16th with the release of Petal Rock Black. The young artist spent over a year and a half crafting this record, playing a majority of the instruments herself. That solitude saturates the twenty-six-minute album, with feathered arrangements and contemporary jazz phrasing. With impeded vocals, Willow is trying to understand a nameless emotion. The album is the fruit of utter deviation and love for one’s craft.

Alemeda: ‘Broken Record’

Alemeda, the Arizonian and Ethiopian hyper contemporary rock/pop artist released her first track of the year ‘Broken Record’, following the release of her sophomore EP,  What The Hell Do I Know.

The fuzzed-out garage track takes a stab at unfulfilling romance and exhaustion with a partner’s mediocrity. Intense vocals over hard-strung guitars and snare, Alemeda’s message is clear and direct, with no further need to repeat it. After all, she isn’t a broken record.

Beautiful Disaster: ‘MGNA CRRRTA’

Ginger Scott and Farheen Khan, the New York duo behind the hard-hitting, speaker-blasting, electroclash sound of MGNA CRRTA. The girls debuted their second mixtape, Beautiful Disaster, four years after their first mixtape, New Jersey. The two met on a Minecraft server; that digital kinship is ever so prevalent in their music. Beautiful Disaster is built on the ethos of femininity and friendship and is emphasized through their natural playfulness and whimsy. When asked about their newest release, they said, “Beautiful Disaster is our diary of visions and dreams and love and hope. It is a message for girls like us.”

Lana Del Rey: ‘White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter’

“White Feather Hawk Tail Deer Hunter”, Lana’s newest spellbinding song, preludes her album and demonstrates her creative range. The single was written by Lana Del Rey along with her sister Chuck Grant, her brother-in-law Jason Pickens, and her husband Jeremy Dufrene, turning it into a family affair. Lana tied the knot with Louisiana Gator Guide, Jeremy Dufrene, back in September 2024. As for an album release date, Del Rey said Stove should land sometime “soon.” The new album was originally titled Lasso and scheduled to arrive in September 2024. Later, Del Rey changed the title to The Right Person Will Stay and set a new release date for May 21, 2025. In August 2025, she pushed back the release again (to January 2026) and renamed it Stove. With the creative shifts of her forthcoming album, Lana has done what she has always done best: keeping her fans on their toes, keeping them guessing, and of course, remaining an enigma.
