New Music Roundup: Zara Larsson, Madonna, & More Freshen Up The Season

New Music Friday featuring Madonna, Chanel Beads, Zara Larsson, & more

This week, V were up and at it due to the hot-off-the-press V160 issue featuring Demi Moore as our cover girl. To honor that, V will show you what music is hot off the charts and was playing in the office as we focused on closing the book!

People I’ve Met is the NYC-based lover boy trio consisting of Moses Martin on vocals as well as guitar, Orlando Wiltshire on drums, and Andrew Suster on bass. Their debut album Bunny was released this AM, and is true to the NYC downtown culture of falling in love in dew-drenched rooms with neon lights being the only guidance out.

Continuing on our theme of NYC sweethearts is Chanel Beads, the project of New York-based producer and musician Shane Lavers. On Wednesday, April 29th, Chanel Beads released two singles in advance of their second album, Your Day Will Come, which is scheduled for release on June 26th, 2026.

The two singles Song for the Messenger & The Coward Forgets his Nightmare are sample-heavy, hypnagogic, post-modern punk, stream-of-consciousness poems that feel like a yerba mate and faulty spliff on a sun-soaked day.

Madonna & Sabrina Carpenter

“Bring Your Love”

Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter made blonde ambition a reality with their duet, “Bring Your Love”. The classic house track bridges Sabrina’s mainstream pop sound with a more gadget-inspired ’90s dance track, the sound that Madonna does with ease.

Zara Larsson

MIDNIGHT SUN: GIRLS TRIP

I hope you have your passport, because we’re going global. V159 cover star Zara Larsson, is back on our New Music Friday list for the second week in a row, and she is keeping the party going with Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.

The deluxe version of Midnight Sun is a full collection of remixes and collaborations that gives new life to the already vibrant songs of the original Midnight Sun. With features from PinkPanthress on Midnight Sun to Shakira on Eurosummer, the cultural question of song of the summer has arrived to us in the form of a full femme fatale album.

BETTER THAN THAT

Kelsey Lu

We’re about six weeks away from the highly anticipated sophomore album of Kelsey Lu. So Help Me God is set to release on June 12th, 2026. So far, we have received three singles from the songstress, the first being “Running to Pain,” the Jack Antanoff-produced track that is about the singer’s own relationship with her craft.

Next is a “Portrait Of A Lady On Fire”, a synth pop ballad on the burning desire of forbidden love, and rounding out the releases is “Better Than That”, which starts as a sparse piano ballad but eventually the instrumentation settles and allows Lu’s vocal capabilities to swell gracefully.
