NYC Restaurant Carbone, Favorited by Kylie Jenner, Debuts Line of Acclaimed Pasta Sauces
Bringing fine dining to your kitchen.
Every foodie in New York City knows Carbone. Situated in the heart of Greenwich Village, the eatery opened its doors in 2013 and has since become a New York staple. Its electric red sign invites every who’s who and unsuspecting passersby into its doors for fine dining at all hours, with a menu full of rich dishes like orecchiette vito and tortellini al ragu that leave guests licking their plates clean.
Now the NYC restaurant is bringing its acclaimed flavors to homes across the country with its newly launched line of pasta sauces. The Michelin-starred Italian restaurant is renowned for its slow simmer, small-batch approach to creating the perfect tomato sauce. Most run-of-the-mill jarred sauces mix tomato paste with dehydrated ingredients for a simple and fast production that typically only lasts eight minutes. Compare that to Carbone, whose painstaking process takes on average, one hour per jar thanks to their prioritization of fresh ingredients.
The sauce label’s design depicts the three restaurant owners standing in front of the storefront as it would have appeared in 1958 in a recreation of a beloved illustration that adorns the dine-in menu. Carbone pays homage to the history of New York City and the glamorous era of dining that inspired the concept.
“Creating staple sauces for the home cook that possess the craft we’re known for has been a goal for some time,” says restaurateur Mario Carbone. “The challenge was to create a product that would not only cut down cooking time but also truly deliver on the promise of unequaled flavor, and we can now say that that’s exactly what we’ve done. We couldn’t be more excited—and there’s much more to come.”
This is just the latest venture for the masterminds behind Carbone. Since their launch nearly a decade ago, the eponymous chef and co-founders Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick have grown their global restaurant company, Major Food Group, to 18 locations spanning from Miami to Hong Kong and acquiring famous fans like Kardashian-Jenner sisters, Nick Jonas, Rihanna and Drake along the way.
Carbone is hitting supermarket shelves in three mouthwatering varieties: Marinara, Arrabbiata, and Tomato Basil retailing for $8.99/per 24oz jar. If you’re more of an online shopper, sauces are fully stocked on Amazon and carbonefinefood.com.
