NYFW Is Requiring All Attendees to be Vaccinated

The CFDA and IMG announce a required proof of vaccination for NYFW guests.

New York Fashion Week is just right around the corner with one new requirement: all guests must be vaccinated in order to attend. The Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced along with International Management Group that all designers hosting a show this year must enforce this requirement for themselves and their team.

After almost two years of virtual, hybrid and some limited in-person shows, NYFW is hoping to get back on track while following guidelines from the CDC, city and state. Proof of vaccination is needed for entry for all guests of NYFW above the age of 16 years-old. For guests 16 years of age and younger, a negative COVID test is needed for entry.

This announcement comes at the head of New York City also announcing a mandate that patrons and guests of restaurants and indoor activities must be vaccinated to attend. As the Delta variant of COVID-19 is spreading more rapidly across the country, a push for citizens to get their vaccines is being highly encouraged.

Only a month away, NYFW is still certain to look differently than it did before the pandemic. However, with this new requirement, the fashion community — and New York City itself — is sure to find some solace and comfort with NYFW’s latest update.
