Tall drinks, tiny swimsuits, ice cubes, suntans, and a sense of mystery—the magic of summer vacation extends to the center of Paris with Les Vacances de Lucien at Colette. Following Balenciaga and Demna Gvasalia’s take over of the influential Paris boutique in June, Colette has enlisted PR guru Lucien Pagès for the remainder of the summer. As part of his residency, Pagès has brought along an exciting group of friends, including Peter Philips, M/M Paris, Jonathan Anderson, and Jacquemus.

Imagine some of the industry’s most colorful personalities have gone off to summer camp to craft, create, and sing Kumbaya. This is what Pagès has created on the first floor of the distinguished retailer. More than 36 designers and creatives have crafted exclusive product emblematic of the energy of ‘Out of Office’. The offerings range from a Jacquemus beach chair printed with nude, sunbathing silhouettes to a $3,000 leather John Lobb beach ball. Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup, even created two new Dior products for the space—Double Rouge and Rouge Dior Liquid—and a video for the limited edition range featuring Bella Hadid and Ruth Bell.

“Sarah [Andelman of Colette] told me 'I want every brand you represent, even the ones I’ve never bought before',” explains Pagès. “I wanted to add some friends like Peter Philips, M/M Paris, Michel Gaubert, Christopher Niquet, Saskia Lawaks and Camille Bidault-Waddington. It was important to me to show that a PR office is nothing without collaborators and friends. I wanted it [to appear] as a family. I tried to involve everybody in one way or another. It is a strange mix of brands, designers and people…I was scared it would be chaotic, and it is just beautiful!”

Fashion’s favorite DJ Michel Gaubert has soundtracked Les Vacances de Lucien, while M/M Paris has created punchy logos for must-have “vacation souvenirs” ranging from t-shirts to beach bags to plastic cups. It’s the ultimate summer getaway, without the sunburn.

The list of collaborators is long, varied, and undeniably fun. The full roster of boldfaced collaborators include Adieu, Ambush, A.P.C., Astier de Villatte, Byredo, Camille Bidault-Waddington, Charlotte Chesnais, Christopher Niquet, Courregés, Editions M.R., Elie Top, Harumi Klossowska de Rola, Holiday Paris, Jacquemus, John Lobb, Joseph, Julien David, J.W.Anderson, Koché, Larose Paris, Lemaire, Loewe, M/M Paris, Maison Darré, Maison Rabih Kayrouz, Michel Gaubert, Mira Mikati, Moynat, Olympia Le-Tan, Peter Philips, Ronald van der Kemp, Sabine Getty, The Elder Statesman, Thierry Lasry, Vanessa Seward, Yazbukey, and Zimmermann.

Les Vacances de Lucien is now open at Colette through September 2nd.
