If you're trying to brush up on your culture, Alana O'Herlihy's debut exhibit A Girl's Gotta Eat may be just what you're looking for. Her new multimedia exhibit features photos, moving images, and billboard installations, transitioning between themes and concepts that feel both surreal and personal. Some of LA's finest cool kids came out to celebrate the opening, including Levi Dylan, grandson of Bob Dylan, and Kaia Gerber. O'Herlihy enjoyed the night by posing with attendees amidst her poignant works on full display.

"As a visual artist, I blend various roles— photographer, director, mixed media and content curator to create cohesive work that evokes as powerful a sensorial (sometimes sexual) experience as possible," the artist said of the exhibit. "Whether exploring elements of human nature, beauty, vulnerability, femininity, or objectivity, I try to celebrate and showcase the nuances of human nature. Entitled A Girl’s Gotta Eat, this collection of work explores the convoluted nature I’ve navigated throughout my working life.  Operating within the channels of self-portraiture, mixed-media, and work, the series toys with the canons of the male gaze, ideas of beauty challenged subverted, and looming political angst."

A Girl's Gotta Eat is now open at Sunset Studios in Los Angeles and will run until April 26. To view the shots from the opening night party, click through the slideshow below.
