Canada’s favorite indie-pop princess stepped into the streets of New York for a busy, colorful, pride-filled visit. Below, follow along with Allie X in her up-close-and-personal photo diary.

My pride week started immediately after getting off my plane at JFK. I went straight to my Airbnb in Harlem and met my entire glam team there to get right into this look. I loved this textured hair by Evanie Frausto so much that I kept it for the rest of the week. I also slept in this makeup and used it for my pride brunch at Spring Place the next day. Don’t judge- I did what I had to do!

We wanted to salute Susanne Barsch in this look by The Blonds. A show gal inspo, but I thought Matthew Mazur and his team did a great job making it fashion with the monochromatic shiny tights and kitten heel!

My next entry is from a HOT HUMID evening in Harlem before the American Apparel event. I wore my friend Bible Girl’s oversized T shirt with blue tights and white sneaks, and the Adam Selman X Le Specs collab sunnies. I was melting and just wanted a haphazard sort of look.

My final day in NYC was my performance at Ladyland, followed by a surprise performance at Webster Hall at Devil’s Playground. It was a night that called for Tulle. A great deal of tulle. I got live out my Dr. Seuss 4 foot ponytail fantasy. Hairstylist Timothy Aylward made me howl with laughter as he snatched my head into this incredible creation!

Matthew Mazur (who also played a set at Ladyland) styled this custom tulle piece created by Julia Emmons. One of my fav looks I’ve ever done. I felt like a unicorn.
