Pieter Mulier Closes a Defining Chapter at Alaïa

After five years of heritage and modern precision, the designer will step away from the house

Pieter Mulier will conclude his tenure as Creative Director of Maison Alaïa following the presentation of the house’s Summer–Fall 2026 collection this March.

Mulier’s tenure began with a stunning FW21 tribute to the French maestro Azzedine Alaïa. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in reaffirming the House’s singular identity, translating its precision craftsmanship and enduring celebration of femininity into a contemporary language.

“We sincerely thank Pieter for his vision and commitment, writing an important chapter in the ongoing evolution of the Maison,” said Myriam Serrano, Chief Executive Officer of Alaïa. “Over the past 5 years, Pieter and the exceptional team he led have shaped Alaïa’s creative renewal, honoring its heritage and strengthening the Maison’s relevance, confidence, and global recognition.”

Philippe Fortunato, Chief Executive Officer of Fashion and Accessories Maisons at Richemont, echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that Alaïa’s future will continue to be guided by creative exploration and the strength of its collective talent—the Alaïa family—as the studio ensures continuity in the interim period until a new creative organization is confirmed.
