It is understandable to feel a cluster of emotions amidst crisis and so often, there is a stigma amongst people of color where it feels almost impossible to speak on mental health issues. Whether you are burned out or frustrated, it is crucial to practice self-care and take social media breaks often during this emotionally challenging time to preserve your mental health. But sometimes, you need to vent to understand your emotions and better cope with them. The V family has compiled a list of free virtual crisis resources for communities of color in case you need to reach out to someone. Remember, you’re not alone.

The BLH Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Taraji P. Henson. The BLH Foundation is providing free virtual therapy sessions to support people of color who are suffering during this time. The Crisis Textline offers free, confidential, and 24/7 crisis counseling services at your fingertips. All you have to do is text SHARE to 741741 to speak with a counselor.

Seize The Awkward offers tools and in-depth information to support those struggling with mental health.

Talkspace

Talkspace is now providing free therapist-led support groups to create safe spaces for those in need, as well as financial assistance for therapy in the Black community.

Therapy for Black Men is a directory to help men of color in their search for a therapist. Men in need of services can search by therapist location and specialization.

Therapy for Black Girls is a safe space for Black women to present mental health topics in a way that feels more accessible and relevant.
