The implementation of social activism within fashion is an integral theme consistently embraced by the leaders of the Fashion Week platform. Last February, Prabal Gurung premiered his line of feminist motto’d t-shirts for the finale of his FW17 collection. Flash forward to his collection for FW18 and it’s clear that Prabal is only growing louder and louder, using his runway as an ally to all women.

This new collection is an eclectic balance of mixed prints, textures, and flair. Whether it’s feather or fur, knits or plaids, these multi-tailored stylings have a distinct magic within every single detail. The most exciting element of this collection is Prabal’s use of velvet for the last five looks, including Bella Hadid rocking a maroon, loose-fitted, and beautifully draped strapless velvet jumpsuit.

In finale, Prabal Gurung brings this presentation full circle by sending the models en masse down the runway with white roses as an incredibly fresh nod to the recent #TimesUp campaign. Prabal proudly raises the flag of accountability when it comes to asking fashion to be a bit broader than itself. “Here’s to Strong Women. May we know them. May we raise them. May we be them.”
