Prada transported us to a setting we are eerily familiar with but with an unexpected twist for their newest menswear collection. The collection was shown in a traditional office setting but contained a breathtaking scene of nature just a few feet under the transparent floor. This extreme contrast of two opposing worlds was the main focus of this collection as it explored how humans are adapting to both the world we created and the one we were given. Even with our daily life being extremely disconnected from our primal origins, we still crave to experience the great outdoors and find a real connection to nature.

The set for this show, designed by AMO, portrayed a bleak office setting, containing all of the classic staples of depressing daily life such as cubicles and a sea of black office chairs for guests to sit on. The basic and dull office would’ve been nothing out of the ordinary if guests were not able to look down and discover a lush garden hidden under their feet. This scene of the outdoors contained green grass, autumn leaves and a crystal clear stream which truly showcased the beauty of what we are missing.

The lineup mainly consisted of classic corporate silhouettes with plenty of trousers, button-down shirts and suits to dress the modern working man. Neutral colors reigned but vibrant colors such as lime green and bright purple kept popping up whether it was in the form of an accessory or multiple pieces of clothing. Most garments fit slightly oversized with intentionally slouchy dress shirts showcased in an array of colors. Sailor influences, an upcoming trend seen on a number of other runway shows, also crept in the middle of the show with captain hats appearing on a handful of models. The collection as a whole was a seemingly youthful take on workwear and could perfectly suit the next generation of upcoming professionals.
