Prada Tropico Comes To New York City
Vibrant and energetic, an exclusive collection is met with expressive window and floor displays that are a must-see in the city
Stroll through the streets of Soho beginning March 31 and you’ll stumble across the familiar Prada storefront, now with the striking and hypnotic effects of Prada Tropico. The exclusive in-store installation and window designs are implemented at the Broadway location for a limited time only.
The windows are defined by light and radiate energy, as backlit surfaces comprised of colorful stripes enhance neon signs depicting a modernized interpretation of the Prada triangle logo. The original landscape, taking inspiration from hues and atmospheres of distant lands, melding urban and rural. Contrasting colors meet geometric patterns that play with graphic effects and lines of bright green, white, black, blue, red, yellow and orange.
The Soho store is defined by large columns that mark its entrance, now draped in ivory-white and green, to introduce a tropical forest. Prada hats in a variety of colors, models and materials mimic leaves twisting and turning on green metal trunks and branches. The walls and floors echo the same pattern, and a suspended, illuminated Prada logo immediately grabs attention.
Prada Tropico’s exclusive collection features silk blouses, multi-length skirts, pajama-inspired looks and casual men’s shirts and shorts. Colored stripes, similar to that of the display designs, give vibrance to the clothes and accessories. Striped hats in raffia, nylon, and cotton drill come in a variety of styles, and the signature Triangle bag, offered in leather and raffia, reinterprets the brand’s emblematic triangle logo.
