Lanvin went for the most put together of deconstructed themes this pre-fall, with mismatched animal prints and mod-hippy detailing while Costume National delivered a typically sleek choice of eveningwear for the androgyne.
Notable trends are a severely belted jacket (or dress) that we saw almost everywhere, including Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Calvin Klein Collection, Chanel, McQ Alexander McQueen, and Lanvin, and a double-breasted anything, spotted at Céline, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Derek Lam, Opening Ceremony and Chloé, to name a few. We're also loving these power suits in vivid blues (and burgundies, pale pinks and sea-punk greens).
We're calling the short, slope-shouldered teddy-colored jackets sprinkled throughout many of the collections "The Fozzie." And who doesn't appreciate a chunky fur (or faux), in natural and disco shades? The way to wear the season's club-kid inspired matted tufts is chunky, with an all-business trouser and an after-work updo.
