2018 has been a huge year for the breakout artist, especially in the endlessly developing pop-sphere. If you haven't met singer-songwriter L Devine and her music yet, buckle up because she's easily going to become one of the next big things.

Today, the rising star has released her newest single "Can't Be You" accompanied by a video for the sway-inducing, emotional bop track. Fresh off the release of her latest single "Peer Pressure" L Devine says, "I love the guitar riff in 'Can't Be You' so much, it makes me think of 90s indie pop rock stuff. It funnily enough actually reminded me of ‘Weather With You’ by Crowded House. So as soon as Al Shux–who produced the song–started playing that riff, I was like yep I have to write a song to this."

Infectious is understatement as the songstress taps into a pop headspace that is filled with energetic and hungry emotion, but in a strong sense that focuses in on the literal and celebrates in the meta aspects. "I love that it sounds so peaceful and lush but feels so melancholy at the same time. And I think that feeling is reflected in the lyrics. It’s about the struggles of resisting the comfort of a relationship when you know it’s unhealthy. In the song, I’ve finally decided enough is enough and have made peace with the situation."
