Diamonds have long been revered as a girl's best friend, but for Italian jewelry designer Bulgari, it is as if diamonds and jewels are her lover. Beloved by royalty, celebrities, and the masses alike, Bulgari is an accessory staple with its elegant, decadent look, while ultimately holding a special place in the glamour and romance of New York with their 5th Avenue flagship store.

This year, Bulgari celebrates 45 years of its 5th Ave and 57th Street location, so to honor the milestone, dreamy, multitalented director Petra Collins shot a short film about the iconic brand, premiering today on V, in anticipation of their forthcoming anniversary party on Friday, Oct. 20.

The Collins-conceptualized-and-directed clip radiates the sultry magnetism of the disco era shot with fuzzed-out filters, kaleidoscopic colors, a vintage-inspired wardrobe, and (of course) jewels upon jewels to illustrate the original Bulgari legacy. In the short film, Collins tells the story of Nicola Bulgari's transformative journey from Rome to New York "with just a suitcase of bold, magnificent jewels," and how "legends were born" out of simply that in combination with a dream and the spirit of the city.

With Bulgari's visionary, divine discoteque style and an appropriate dash of Manhattan's seedy, '70s sin, the film illustrates that the flagship store on 5th Ave and 57th was and still is the place to be.
