Rainsford, the moniker of L.A.-based pop singer Rainey Qualley, has made her name with hypnotizing glittery R'n'B-pop and intriguing DIY-style videos with a warm and quirky touch. Now, she's back with a dazzling clip for her new single, "Intentions" featuring Twin Shadow, premiering exclusively on V.

In what is becoming typical Rainsford fashion, the artist worked closely with director Jason Brown on the video, coining the entire concept and adding a literally artistic touch to the proceedings. The clip sees Rainsford contemplate a relationship with Twin Shadow at her side and dance her feelings away, something that wasn't at all new to her. "I was really inspired by the "Love Machine" dancers on the Benny Hill show, and I wanted to create something that had that sort of feeling," she told V. "I started dancing when I was really young, and it's still one of my favorite things in the world to do.  I've known Josh, one of the dancers featured in the video, since I was a kid because we had one of the same teachers."

While the up-and-coming pop star looks glam and refined in the video, the inspiration behind the pensive yet enchanting track is anything but. "This song had several manifestations before it finally ended where it is," she said. "My co-writer/producer Nick Dungo and I ended up combing two different songs, and we re-worked the production several times.  At the time I was having  confusing experience with a girl, followed by an equally confusing experience with a guy. Both of which left me wondering what their intentions were." The video may not leave an answer, but at least it's visually stunning. Watch below.
