At John Galliano’s latest show for Maison Margiela, the iconic designer tapped into the social media craze, specifically asking audience members to turn the flash on their cameras—each capturing their own images of the phantasmic fabrics that strobed and turned into prismatic rainbows during the show. As a whole, the collection was rooted in technology and speed, capturing the essence of culture’s current progressive state. Slip dresses were faceted into parkas, while a transparent puffer was comprised of hand-painted feathers.

"When lines between daywear and eveningwear are blurred, relaxed glamour becomes the essential dress code in our everyday life," Maison Margiela stated. But the real showstopper here was a blue outdoor anorak that featured a shredded hem and was morphed into copper pleats that could be seen on skirt.
