In response to the global coronavirus pandemic, the New York-based genderless streetwear brand Private Policy has launched support for the Ali Forney Center’s (AFC) #LoveAli campaign. The 2019 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalist has dreamed up an exclusive US-made T-shirt that will retail for $80 through a GoFundMe site and on Private Policy’s website starting on Thursday, April 9th. After covering the minimum production costs for the New York-based T-shirt manufacturer, all the proceeds will be donated to AFC — the nation’s largest and most comprehensive services and shelter provider for homeless LGBTQ youth.

In order to help financially support the continuous operation of the Ali Forney Center, genderless fashion brand Private Policy is teaming up with the AFC to raise money with their #LOVEALI campaign. The brand, a 2019 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, has designed an exclusive, US-made, t-shirt. The t-shirt retails for $80, with all proceeds going to the AFC, and are pre-selling the shirts to expedite the money going towards both the organization and the factory for production. “Raising awareness for social issues and causes in need is part of our brand’s DNA,” Private Policy designers Siying Qu and Haoran Li explained. “With the increasing number of people losing work, homelessness is on the rise and we knew that we needed to do something. We want to assist the Ali Forney Center in raising money to help keep their services going for the LGBTQ youth during a time they need the most!” 

In supporting the charitable organization, Private Policy will be joined by long-time AFC supporter Billy Porter of FX’s Pose, Tan France of Netflix’s Queer Eye, Bowen Yang of NBC’s Saturday Night Live and artist and activist Chella Man. Each of the supporters has agreed to sign a shirt that is to be mailed at random to those who have purchased the #LoveAli and/or donated to the organization.

With all aspects of production scheduled, the t-shirts are slated to be shipped out to their recipients in mid-May. In this time of need, AFC is choosing to keep its doors open and keep supporting the homeless LGBTQ youth by providing needed shelter and health services.
