The craft and influences signature to Proenza remain, but Scott brings a new vision to expand on what will be defined as the Proenza Schouler woman. The guiding principles she cites: thought, intuition, contradiction.
These show up most clearly in the styling, with a rushed look to many of the clothes, twisted fabrics and rumpled dresses. Perfection is not the goal with this collection, instead it sought and achieved to display the real person behind the clothes. The ideal Scott imagined is a mysterious figure, artistic but displaying a capacity for discipline.

The silhouettes of the collection build upon this concept, with cinched waists but soft edges contradiction appears but it has an undertone of power. Using wills, viscose, Donegal knits, the structure of these shapes is able to be held up while evading a rigid appearance. Designs play with architecture, silks pleated and bonded to create a new form. Trends of the season appear, fringe, pleating, grommets, keeping the collection timely.

The construction of fabrics is a story of its own, using silk habotai, mouline, twisted yard. Night orchids, photographed and created into fabric, allow for digital presence that embraces modernity. These orchids appear throughout the collection, both digitally printed and hand painted, displaying the range in creativity of the collection.

The accessories reach into archives, bringing back the Hex bag, clutch, and bowler bag. The footwear explores a range in creativity: elongated kitten heels, satin sandals, square toe pumps. The looks aren’t constrained to a single event, season, or time. They are for each woman, each person who is rebellious against expectations, confident, or looking to step into this persona.
