Psych Rock Band Valentine’s New V Day Single

The band’s single “I Told You” comes out today, just in time for the relationships that didn’t make it to Valentine’s Day.

Fronted by Cici Valentine and backed by Dylan Peterson, Valentine is a psych-rock band based in Los Angeles. Their latest endeavor is the single “I Told You” which was released on Valentine’s Day, but not the love song hopeless romantics are looking for. With vengeful lyrics about getting the very last word in, Valentine explores arguments that carry-on past a relationship. The single is true to the band’s genre as hypnotic drums and Cici Valentine’s dreamy vocals fuse together, creating a psychedelic rock masterpiece fit for the soundtrack of a dramatic film.

Cici Valentine is widely known through her music, including the Chicago-based band she led before Valentine called, Girlyboi, whose sound could be described as the Mamas and the Papas meets The Velvet Underground. Valentine is also recognized in the fashion world, spearheading her own label, Vintage Valentine where she aims to change the notion around band “merch” by establishing a cool-girl community and features pieces from her favorite decades. The multifaceted artist ultimately sought for Vintage Valentine to be an extension of her music, a blend of  ‘60s psychedelia, and alternative rock essences.
