Philipp Plein's move to New York was nothing short of a spectacle. His Spring 2018 collection was staged at the Hammerstein Ballroom, with over 2,000 eager bystanders waiting outside. The link between music and fashion has always been strong, but Plein blurred the lines further, with the entire collection staged in front of rapper FUTURE performing under a set of scaffolded girls posing and dancing. Burlesque maven Dita Von Teese also helped set the stage, opening the show from her giant martini glass, playfully splashing around. And Nicki Minaj was seated front row, with the promise of performing a set at the after-party. Plein knows no bounds when it comes to creating a performance that will get people talking: on top of the supermodel lineup acting as the proverbial cherry-on-top to the scene, Teyana Taylor slinked out and somersaulted down the runway.
