Red Club x Cartier: Patrons of Emerging Entrepreneurs
2023 Young Leader Award applications are now open, here’s what you need to know.
Cartier, the luxury jewelry company known for its watches and bracelets worn by celebrities and millionaires is not the brand that first comes to mind when thinking of philanthropy. The brand appreciates entrepreneurialism and has partnered with the Red Club for the 2023 edition of the Young Leadership Award in a very ‘teach a man to fish’ effort. The brand recognizes its success and hopes for others to have similar prosperity in their prospective fields, they acknowledge how difficult it is for young businesses and want to help those that show the potential to make a real impact on their communities and fields. Cyrille Vigneron, President and CEO of Cartier stated, “Entrepreneurial spirit is a precious asset to be cultivated, particularly during challenging times”.
The award offers non-profit organizations and emerging social entrepreneurs with mentorship and a financial award to support their causes. Red Club offers mentorship through its network of financial, healthcare, fintech, and consumer experts to assist the selected applicants to expand and thrive as emerging enterprises. The 2023 theme is “Bettering Lives”, applicants must be working in the field of health services, seeking to provide accessibility and inclusivity to healthcare for those in need, particularly to underrepresented communities.
The goal is to remove obstacles from the paths of young, fledgling businesses that seek to innovate and can make a great social impact. Four businesses are chosen and awarded assistance in the form of monetary sums and mentorship. The winner receives 50,000 euros while the remaining three runner-ups receive a sum of 10,000 euros each. Georgetown University and Howard University work alongside the Red Club and Cartier to create the mentorship program and offer to coach businesses. The application opens on October 18th and will close on January 31, 2023, the winners will be announced in April of 2023. Cartier considers this endeavor ‘A responsibility and a privilege to champion efforts made to improve the global healthcare system.
