Ren Drops Her New Song “idc”
Ren’s third single is pop-rock perfection.
Canadian wunderkind Ren just released her newest single IDC. The track, which is her third single and first with new label Geffen, features a strong rock tone with heavy guitar which is paired with Ren’s sultry, smoky voice. “idc” which – as you probably guessed – stands for “I don’t care” was inspired by what Ren calls “stupid teenager stuff that happens to all of us.” She decided to take her frustrations over these daily inconveniences and turned them into pop-rock perfection.
Ren was always destined to become a musician. She comes from a musical family and has always considered herself a writer. Poetry and short stories naturally evolved into songwriting at the age of 13. “It’s how I express myself in the best way possible,” she said.
Ren’s star has been on the rise for some time now. She was previously named as one of Soundcloud’s Artists to Watch after her debut single hit the platform. The song caught the attention of executives at Geffen Records. The rest is history.
Though she’s only released three singles thus far, Ren has generated an insane amount of buzz already. Her first two singles “waves” and “mind games” have already generated upwards of 5 million streams on Spotify.
