Revel In The Craziness That Is Aquarius Season

What to expect from this years Aquarius season, and how you can make the best of it

I think we can all agree the monotony of winter is upon us, its bleak, gray mornings an invitation to snuggle under the covers for just a little longer and the cold weather making work-from-home sound even more desirable. It doesn’t help that this month (and year) began with Capricorn season, whose loyalty to tradition and personal discipline—although crucial to tackling the first few weeks of those New Years resolutions—is exhausting nonetheless. And just when you thought you’ve had enough of the tedious routine, the season of weird is here.

The sun moves into Aquarius around January 20 and stays there until February 18, giving us plenty of time to reevaluate, refresh and make some… questionable decisions. What was once business and seriousness has been replaced with a playful romanticism. Contrary to its name, Aquarius is an air sign and, like other air signs, sociability and imagination are at the forefront of this upcoming season. Use this openness as a segue into making new friends and reconnecting with old ones. Celebrate your individuality and wear it with confidence. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there; say yes to that first date, go out dancing with your friends, pitch that original idea to your boss.

By early February, both Mercury and Venus will emerge from retrograde, and February 6 through April 30 finds every planet direct, a rare occurrence that invites innovation and forward-thinking. Let go of any restrictions and self-limiting behaviors, and revel in the freedom of your mind and spirit, wherever that autonomy may guide you. Communication should flow uninhibited, and creativity is at a yearly high. Explore a new hobby, spend time with friends and reach out to new ones, or reorganize and redecorate your living space. Once singularly ruled by the disciplinarian Saturn and now co-ruled by the eccentric Uranus, Aquarius is the most revolutionary of all the signs, so take this opportunity to revel in curiosity, question the status quo, and make a change, whether in your personal life or in the world around you.
