RHUDE Launches Capsule Collection with The Webster

As the Formula 1 Grand Prix takes over Miami’s sunny beaches, RHUDE and The Webster preparing with a new racing ready collection.

Race cars buzz down the black tarmac. Fans erupt in excitement as the first car crosses the finish line. The salty smell of the ocean perfumes the air. RHUDE and The Webster release an exclusive capsule collection in honor of the Formula 1 Grand Prix new Miami home. The luxury retailer taps the Los Angeles based brand to create a collection inspired by racing and Miami.

RHUDE founder and creative director Rhugi Villaseñor found a fascination with racing as a child. He uses racing cartoons and Tamiya motor car toys as muses for his designs. With South Beach being the home to The Webster, and the new home to a Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit, Villaseñor uses the elements of the beachside city in the overall design of the collection.

“The concept of the capsule was to express the energy of the race weekend through the clothing. We focused on sporty fabrics, bright pops of color, and racing thematics. With our previous project with McLaren Formula 1, we realized how important that project was for today’s time and how we caught a moment where education and interest for Formula 1 was stimulated with the youth. The collection is stemmed from that while referencing hints of what I think is the glory era of racing,” said Villaseñor.

Titled “The Always First” capsule, the new collection includes 11 pieces. The garments transcend from days on the track to days on the beach. The collection includes hoodies, jackets, racing vests, swim trunks, and bucket hats among other items. The “Always First” capsule dropped on May 3 at The Webster in South Beach. The collection is available for purchase in all of The Webster stores and on their online store as well.
