Rich Brian Releases New Single “Vivid”
The 23 year-old rapper is back with his first solo single of the year
Rich Brian has released his newest track “Vivid” with a feature from $not. The single, produced by Rich Brian himself, is set to an acoustic guitar loop and soothing background vocals. The rapper uses “Vivid” as a confident breakup anthem, looking back at his past relationships noting that he’s clearly far better off without any of his exes.
“This song was the result of this one week I started listening to Musiq Soulchild & thought to myself what if there’s hard ass 808’s on this, and turns out it sounds pretty good,” Rich Brian says of the track.
It’s already been a big year for Rich Brian, with “Vivid” as his first solo single of the year following his EP Brightside release in January. In the spring, the rapper made history as the first Indonesian artist to solo headline Coachella. Rich Brian also performed to an audience of 35,000 this August at the Head in the Clouds Festival at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
In addition to the release of the single, an official music video has been released on the 88rising Youtube, which features Rich Brian taking over a driving range in a glow-in-the-dark rambunctious scene. In a true Rich Brian fashion, the video is a not-so-serious takeover featuring frowny-faced golf balls, a trip in a golf cart, and neon green visuals.
