Since 1994, Rick Owens has been at the helm designing clothes for his eponymous line. Originally debuting in New York, the designer decided to make a shift and moved his company to Paris in 2003, making history and allowing the brand to dedicate an exhibition to the designer in Europe.

Subhuman Inhuman Superhuman is set to be held at the Triennale di Milano and will be presented as a "Gesamtkunstwerk" (a German word meaning “total work of art”). Taking the entire retrospective into his own hands, Owens has meticulously picked designs from his archive and presented them as furniture, films, graphics, and sculptures. While the rest of the details surrounding the exhibit have been kept under tight wraps, one can only hope that Owens will display some of his most iconic fashion moments, including the impressive scaffolding set from the SS18 menswear show, the human backpacks from SS16 ,and the step dancers from SS14.

Subhuman Inhuman Superhuman will be open from December 15, 2017 to March 25, 2018 at Triennale di Milano.
