After serving up the brilliant new single “Missing U” back in August, Robyn has finally delivered the news we’ve been waiting to hear for the better part of a decade: at last, she’s releasing a new album. Her long-anticipated eighth studio album, her first in eight years, is titled Honey and will be released on October 26.

Robyn brought in Metronomy’s Joseph Mount, as well as constant collaborators Klas Åhlund, Adam Bainbridge, Kindness, Mr. Tophat and Zhala, to help with production on the album. In a statement, she describes Honey as “this sweet place, like a very soft ecstasy. Something that’s so sensual, and so good. I danced a lot when I was making it. I found a sensuality and a softness that I don’t think I was able to use in the same way before. Everything just became softer.”

The album is named after an unreleased song that was previewed during an episode of Girls’ final season. Although the track was still unfinished, fans of both Robyn and the Lena Dunham-starring show immediately demanded its release, prompting the hashtag #RELEASEHONEYDAMMIT, which the Swedish superstar even used herself during a Red Bull panel with Kindness.

Honey is the singer’s first studio album since 2010’s Body Talk series, which produced some of her most renowned hits including “Dancing On My Own”, “Call Your Girlfriend”, and “Hang With Me”. In the interim, Robyn also put out two collaborative EPs with electronic duo Röyksopp and Mr. Tophat. And going by the lush "Missing U", we’re in for a treat with Honey. Check out the album cover below.
