Rochas Stuns With Sleek, Feminine Silhouettes For FW19

Rochas FW19 featured an array of voluminous silhouettes paired with unexpected fabrics for their FW19 show.

Alessandro Dell’ Aqua wanted to go back to Rochas’ couture roots for this collection and presented a collection that reflected elegant, bourgeois clothes paired with voluminous silhouettes to take the collection to the next level. The decision to include some volume induced pieces definitely adds a new twist to certain items such as the camel brown blazer; as it feminizes the piece without taking away its assertiveness.  The collection started off with muted, grey colors and then transitioned into black pleated skirts with some bolder, vinyl tops with oversized sleeves. Overall, the collection had a strong theme of unapologetic femininity and sophistication.

The collection had some unexpected color pairings, such as the camel brown blazer paired with the the Persian blue silk skirt; but it worked perfectly to bring across a unique interplay of silhouettes and layers coming together. “They said they want it to be very couture but modern, and then left it up to me,” said leading British milliner Stephen Jones.
