Cubism-like art graces the cover of Roger Vivier’s latest monograph, in what reads like a subtle hint at the playful and dynamic documentation of the house’s legacy that lies beneath. Published by Rizzoli, Roger Vivier: Heritage and Imagination carefully traces the cultural portrait of the designer while also chronicling the fresh vision of the house under the current creative direction of Gherardo Felloni.

The book follows in the footsteps of early editorials that have documented Roger Vivier’s body of works since 1988, from early monographs such as Roger Vivier by Pierre Provoyeur (1988) and Mémoire de la Mode (1999), to Process to Perfection curated by Elizabeth Semmelhack (2012), as well as landmark Rizzoli volumes produced in conjunction with major exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo and beyond. Shifting away from a biographical focus and an encyclopedic catalog of the designer’s whole host of impactful, lavish shoe creations, this latest volume turns inward into the whirling mind of Monsieur Vivier himself.

Structured around five chapters, or “Salons,” the book takes inspiration from the eighteenth-century intellectual gatherings that were devoted to literature, philosophy, and art discussions. Close-up shots of shoe details and archival images unfold across the brightly saturated coated paper, peppered with Vivier’s original sketches and prototypes. Contributions drawn from conversations with the brand ambassador Ines de la Fressange, actress Catherine Deneuve, and cultural figures such as Suzy Menkes and Nicholas Party bring together some influential voices across cinema, art, fashion, and literature—their words altogether highlighting how Vivier’s legacy continues to resonate through the femininity, elegance, and performance of designs shaped under Felloni today.

During the Paris Haute Couture Week, Atelier Animalier—the Spring/Summer 2026 Pièce Unique collection conceived under Felloni—was unveiled, which immortalized the Maison’s codes of craftsmanship. Marrying the archives with a contemporary lens, the collection recreated the 1960s animalier motifs of leopard, zebra, and giraffe into 11 Jewel bags, accented with glistening beads, furs, and feathers.

As the indelible Parisian shoes brand continues to evolve, the book gathered moments from past, present, and future, proving that “this heritage is shown not as a closed chapter,” says the release statement, “but as a living grammar, constantly reinterpreted with freedom, emotion, and contemporary relevance.”
