Whimsy meets retro in “Flooded,” the spring/summer 2022 collection by Roger Vivier

Presented in an artistic music video set in a nostalgic, 80s-reminiscent world, the collection is Vivier’s love letter to cinema and music, a celebration of the different art forms that inspired the shoe collection.

“Sometimes all it takes is humming a few notes,” said Creative Director Gherardo Felloni, who sings “Floodland” in the video. “It sweeps us away to another world.”

Another world is certainly where the playful footwear or Roger Vivier are from. Inspired by the life of Felloni, the “Flooded” video follows a lone boy named Theo (played by French actor Vassili Schneider), welcomed into the surreal, fantastical world of “Floodland” as it plays across the walls of his bedroom in a projector. Icons and characters in the video debut the collection: Isabella Rossellini, an iconic personality and guest of Maison Roger Vivier, stars as a classic superstar, a muse to the spirited collection.

Roger Vivier’s SS22 collection is bold, alive, unafraid. Headdresses accompany outlandishly colorful dresses and blazers, showcasing a love of all that is maximalist and eclectic, right down to the feet. Vivier Gladiator Sandals draw from Vivier’s 1967 Masque collection, restructured for the modern era with two-toned crystals adorning the straps and an oversized crystal buckle.

Alongside the latest shoes, Roger Vivier’s timeless bags make a new emergence, embedded in the fun, sci-fi world of “Flooded.” The Viv’ Choc is the new signature, combining various textures and fabrics to create a patchwork tribute to art in all its forms—just like the music video does. With a bold yellow exterior and blue crystals studding the pink and purple design, it is the perfect complement to the larger-than-life world of Roger Vivier, a place where the limits of accessorizing are boundless.
