RSVP: Arca’s Exclusive Halloween Bash

The Venezuelan musician held a costume-required ball and performed for her guests.

In a spooky celebration, Venezuelan recording artist Arca held a Halloween bash at New York’s Public Hotel last night. The multi-talented musician drew in an intimate crowd and had only one rule: costumes were required. As exotic cocktails made their way into attendee’s hands, Arca took over the venue and performed for her dedicated audience. As she closed out her last song, DJ Nick Murphy and DJ Vintage Culture mixed the evening into the early morning, making for a splendidly eerie Halloween celebration.

As an artist on the come-up, Arca’s stunning performance and professional hospitality is a testament to how far she’s come as a singer. After attending the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, Arca found success early on  as she released two EPs titled Stretch 1 and Stretch 2. The vocalist’s raw talent shone through and she grew her platform working with artists like Kanye West and FKA Twigs co-writing and producing their work. Obtaining musical mastery, the performing artist has three studio albums under her belt, most recently Arca, which was released in 2017.

As a non-binary musician, Arca utilizes her platform to speak up on issues of sexuality and gender. Most recently, Arca partnered with Frank Ocean to perform at his second prEP+ club night, an evening paying respect to an era where HIV medication did not exist. Having enjoyed the first exclusive celebration, the musician has plans to host the next prEP+ party in continuation of her support of Ocean’s dedicated efforts.

Finding great success with her Halloween party, Arca certainly holds many more celebratory feats on her horizon. In the meantime, take a look at a few photos from last night’s event in the slideshow below.
