Selena Gomez Spills The Tea On Rare Beauty

The singer and creative reveals more details on the upcoming launch of her beauty brand.

Since confirming the upcoming launch of her own beauty brand earlier this year, Selena Gomez has teased us with bits and pieces of her soon-to-be makeup collection. Dubbed Rare Beauty, the range is set to launch in Sephora this year and will probably include a red lipstick and a shade-inclusive foundation line — as revealed in her latest conversation with comedian Amy Schumer for Interview Magazine

“I have 48 shades of foundation and concealer,” she said. “It’s all very clean and easy. I want people to feel safe.”

The singer also announced that she will be using non-models in the campaigns to promote the brand, fostering a healthier relationship with makeup and encouraging her fans to feel beautiful, versus just looking the part. “People of my generation have all this pressure to look a certain way,” she explained. “I wanted to make a line that took away a bit of that pressure.”

Gomez has also promised to craft the perfect, clump-free mascara — as per Schumer’s special request. Though there is no official information on the foundation range yet, @rarebeauty has offered us a peek into Selena’s creative process and some clues into what the shades might look like. If anything, we have a lot to look forward to with this forthcoming release.
