Selena Gomez To Host and Produce Quarantine Cooking Show for HBO Max

The multi-talented star is ready to share her cookbook.

Amid social distancing orders, Selena Gomez is turning her quarantine cooking passion into a primetime television program for HBO Max. The Warner Media streaming platform reportedly gave a 10-episode straight-to-series order for the Untitled Cooking Project, set to be produced by Gomez herself via her July Moon Productions company.

Slated to premiere this summer, the series will feature the globally acclaimed artist-turned-cook trying out various recipes with different master chefs in their separate, remote kitchens. The show will share insightful tips and tricks, while giving an inside look as to how Gomez prepares her culinary masterpieces at home. Additionally, each episode will find a focal point in a specific, food-related charity, while encouraging viewers to take part in the cooking experience while watching.

“We are so excited to have Selena Gomez in our first wave of programming on HBO Max and watch her adventures in the kitchen as she, like many of us, tries to improve her cooking skills during quarantine,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max in a statement. “Blending her determination with top-tier culinary artists is sure to entertain and educate viewers about something we’re all trying to work through – how to make cooking at home exciting, fun and delicious.”

Ahead of the series’ release, Gomez affirmed her love for the kitchen in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve always been very vocal about my love of food,” said the star in a statement. “I think I’ve been asked hundreds of times in interviews if I had another career, what would I do and I’ve answered that it would be fun to be a chef. I definitely don’t have the formal training though! Like many of us while being home I find myself cooking more and experimenting in the kitchen.”

Stay tuned for Selena Gomez’s upcoming cooking show, set to debut this summer.
