Simone Rocha Captures the Bittersweet Sense of Dress Rehearsal SS26

Simone Rocha creates a Spring/Summer 2026 collection that captures a bittersweet sense of dress rehearsal, where youth, awkwardness, and beauty intermingle

“A gesture, a playful, provocative stance, an awkward moment…” The poem that opened Simone Rocha’s Spring/Summer 2026 show’s press release encapsulated the runway to follow: a collection entrenched in vulnerability, tension, and beauty found in imperfection.

Rocha staged her models in clothing that distorted the line between innocence and performance, placing onlookers in the place of the uncharted. Crinolines swelled beneath sheer organza, sometimes trapped beneath vinyl or layered with pressed satin flowers. Sequins shimmered across trapeze silhouettes, while scalloped taffeta, quilted coats, and Venetian wool tailcoats brought structure to dreamlike shapes. The styling underscored Rocha’s fascination with awkwardness: bras peeked through lace, hems unraveled, and shoulders slouched.

Floar accents bloomed in appearance, from brocade bouquets and embroidered roses to single lilies perched on hips or stitched into men’s tailoring. Accessories became part of the narrative: pillowcase bags, leather petal hats, and embellished ballerina platforms made domesticity and fantasy collide. Colors shifted from acidic greens and baby blues to blush pinks and deep reds, underscoring a mood both romantic and unsettling.

The show captured a bittersweet sense of dress rehearsal, where youth, awkwardness, and beauty intermingle. In Rocha’s world, beauty isn’t polished; it’s tentative, raw, and made powerful precisely by its fragility.
